Okay, lets see.

Obviously its combat training. What I found reasonably early in my mage games was its almost always better to not use magic. Too much paradox. The only exception is fights. I'll take the backlash over dying.

So in this case, how can he do that training? You generally want something to fight that won't injure you too badly or at worst kill you. With magic healers, injury is less of a problem.

So what do you use for your fight? Spirits are a possibility, but I doubt it. Amical's reaction when they were mentioned was negative. Vampire? Its sunrise, so they'd be asleep. Werewolf? That is not my idea of combat training.

Basically, I see two options. Either Amical using effects on them and they trying to counter or get around it (he's got at least 3 other full mages on his payroll to block for him if needed) or a danger room type of simulation.

Also, if other mages don't want to fight around the cutest mage, then I guess <insert you favorite character here> is safe.

@Mindsword2: Malloy could probably make a type of mind room for them to fight instead of a danger room? but perhaps he has magical constructs that can be used in combat training situations.

@Mindsword2: They could also use goetic rites to conjure things like avatars of their respective vices, it might be interesting to see Billy confronted with his own pride.

Maybe it's just going to be ward practice? You know, teaching them to use their respective paths in a purely defensive manner, rather than risking a back-and-forth with some beastie or another mage.

He may be on a time limit, but Amical doesn't seem to be the type to smash his toys together the day he gets them.

@Don Quixotes: Not to mention, it was a hard lesson. And he does have healers on call.

Not to say learning to stop would be tough. The hard part is getting their minds wrapped around how to do it. Would Asia ever attack someone after the first fight? If not, then it will be hard for her magic to do so. Its all about the individual.
