I see the boys are getting more familiar. Which is a good thing.

Let’s see how long this holds when Amical begins his training.

Everyone remembers Billy Thatchers name. You'd have to live under a rock not to know him.

@ChibiSilverWings: chapter1 pg 68 Billy says to know him all anyone would need to do was not live under a rock :P im just using his words for the situation.

Not a good thing
Well, knowing someone's real name is a terrible thing in mage. That's the entire point of the false names. Thatcher has a big freaking target on him. Which I suspect is why its getting memorized so fast.

Also, not guests. Good to know.

@Mindsword2: Actually, not as bad as you would think in his case... There are 2 ways of passively protecting yourself from sympathetic magic in Mage (at least via merits, that is). One is making yourself more obscure via Occultation... You hide yourself magically. The other, paradoxically, is to make yourself MORE well known, via the Fame merit. You are making it difficult to affect you because there are TOO MANY connections, so it is hard to get through (as far as I understand).

@AlmostAware: @Mindsword2: YUP. Being slightly well known? BAD. Being VERY well known has it's own form of protection. For those of you who understand WoD rules. Billy has a full 3 dots of the Fame Merit. He's about as famous as the Queen of England. Not nearly as respected though XD

Ah, yes, I recall that now. Can't magically steal the hope diamond because everyone is aware of the hope diamond.

Still, if he is off screen for a while then perhaps that fame will slip. I'd still memorize his name just in case.

Let's not forget that Billy Boy could have been missing for weeks, if not MONTHS already. His (in)famous reputation may have waned without him there to stoke it.

@Don Quixotes: Well you could be even more famous since his disappearance depending how the story spins about a missing Pawn star

@ChibiSilverWings: Replace the second comma in the first sentence with a semicolon; it'll read much smoother. also "broadcast.'

And what was your name again, rude man?

ChibiSilverWings, March 21st, 2014, 2:25 am     Reply

@burningtyger: Heh. He'd be glad people forgot his name! As established by the other commenters, it's a good thing for the most part!
