Finally finished the archive, I guess that means that I am now a full member of the "commentary brigade".

Tiring
So, Cypher is practicing? Good to see, but I am surprised by the exhaustion. Running out of mana perhaps?

@Mindsword2: To avoid superfluous exposition, yes. Acanthus magic requires far more mana than any other Arcana. Tyler exhausted his supply really fast.

*Slightly confused* If I'm understanding correctly, Spectacle is a person. Or is Amical trying to say that the spectacle they've put on entitles them to nourishment?

@burningtyger: You would be right, Spectacle is a person. Mostly.

@stkbayfield:
Well, not necessarily, but yeah Time has a lot of spells that cost mana because they tend to be so powerful.

There's plenty of spells he could practice with that don't cost mana though.

@Strill: Yes, but a new mage isn't going to know that yet :D

Amical reminds me of Gray from the current Lodge rp. Never walk if you can teleport instead.

Raia: Gray! You're going to get fat!
Gray: Nevermind that!

@shylarah The magic system in the Eragon novels would help him there. Spells don’t use mana, but an equal amount of body power real execution would have cost.

It’s hard to see how this would work with the amount of casting Eragon does in the end, though, so nevermind. At least he doesn’t get fat. :D

@Profpatsch: That damn book series was so full of holes you'd swear it came from a Swiss dairy farm.

@Don Quixotes Indeed, but it was fun to read, and that’s all that counts, right?

At least I had fun reading it. :P

@ChibiSilverWings: "Spectacle is a person. Mostly." Which could mean anything,frankly, depending on how you're defining "person" and "mostly." (Mostly human? Mostly self-aware?) We shall see.
